[THE INVESTOR] More than 50 experts and CEOs hailing from global cryptocurrency and blockchain industries will flock to Seoul next month to discuss the future of these new technologies.

Block in Press, a Korea-based blockchain media outlet, said on March 20 that it will hold the first
Distributed Economy forum on April 3-4 at Grand Walkerhill Seoul. The Investor will be one of the media partners for the event, themed “Cryptocurrency, Blockchain and the Future of the Distributed Economy.”

“The event will offer an opportunity to discuss new frontiers in the sectors especially the future value of blockchain, which will cause a paradigm shift across industries,” an official from the event organizer said.

The forum will consist of six sessions, including “Open Protocol and Paradigm Shift,” “Theory and Discussion on Bitcoin,” and “Ethereum and the Future of Computer.”

David Chaum, the developer of E-cash -- often referred to as the forerunner of bitcoin -- will open the event with a keynote speech.

Some of the figures participating in panel sessions include Joseph Poon, co-author of bitcoin’s lightning network white paper and Ian Grigg, a partner at Block.one, the firm behind the EOS cryptocurrency.

Bitcoin services firm Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver, blockchain tech firm Blockstream Chief Strategy Officer Samson Mow and blockchain software firm nChain Chief Developer Craig S. Wright will talk about some of the current issues surrounding bitcoin.

Lee Jeong-ah, vice president of local coin exchange Bithumb will deliver a speech on the second day of the event followed by presentations by distributed database company R3 Research Director Antony Lewis, Stanley Yong of IBM, software firm ConsenSys Managing Director John Lilic.

Consulting organization Red Flag Consulting’s US chief John Collins, tech advisory company Post Oak Labs CEO Tim Swanson and Forbes’ finance reporter Frances Coppolla will take part in a discussion session on regulations and the use of cryptocurrencies in mainstream industries.

Ethereum creator Vitalik Buterin and engineers will lead the last session, in which they will share their ideas on Ethereum and advancement of future computers.
