[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Motor, Korea’s top automaker, said on April 2 its March sales rose 1.6 percent on-year on recovering demand for its vehicles.
Hyundai sold a total of 397,041 vehicles in March, slightly up from 390,603 units a year earlier helped by new vehicles, such as the Santa Fe SUV, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales climbed 6 percent to 67,577 units last month from 63,765 a year ago and overseas sales also gained 0.8 percent to 329,464 from 326,838 during the same period, it said.
In the January-March period, however, sales were down 1.7 percent to 1.05 million units from 1.07 million units a year earlier, it said.
