[THE INVESTOR] Kia Motors said on April 2 its vehicle sales rose 3.4 percent in March from a year earlier on recovering demand.
Kia sold 242,274 vehicles last month, up from 234,390 units a year earlier, driven by sales of new models such as the K3 compact, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales climbed 1.9 percent on-year to 48,540 units in March from 47,621. Overseas sales moved up 3.7 percent to 193,734 autos from 186,769 units over the same period, the statement said.
In the January-March period, overall sales inched up 0.2 percent to 646,040 autos from 644,868 a year earlier, it said.
