[THE INVESTOR] Japanese tech giant Sony said on April 3 it will release the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact smartphones, equipped with top-notch video filming feature, in Korea this month.

First showcased at the Mobile World Congress held in Spain earlier this year, the Xperia XZ2 is the first smartphone that supports 4K HDR video filming.

The smartphones are capable of creating 3-D emojis that resemble users, similar to the system in Samsung Electronics’ latest Galaxy S9.

The 5.7-inch XZ2 and 5-inch XZ2 Compact runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and runs on the Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

The price tag on the Xperia XZ2 is 891,000 won (US$841), and that of the compact model stands at 792,000 won. It will officially hit shelves on April 16 here.
