[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on April 10 that its new flagship G7 ThinQ will make its debut in New York on May 2.

A separate launch event will be held in Seoul the following day. 

“The smartphone will incorporate LG’s top-of-the-line artificial intelligence solutions to offer the most convenient smartphone features for users,” Hwang Jeong-hwan, vice president of the firm’s mobile division said.

The G7 ThinQ is the second model under its new smartphone brand. The company reportedly had considered changing the numbering pattern because using smaller numbers than its bigger rivals Samsung and Apple makes the phones feel less advanced. Instead of ditching the numbering scheme, the company has come up with the new brand to highlight its upgraded AI solutions and voice commands.
