[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on April 23 it started preorders for its new high-end beam projector.

The LG CineBeam Laser 4K will come with Ultra-HD resolution, with the device rated at 2,500 ANSI Lumen. The measure is used to represent the brightness of projectors.

The official release is slated for May.

The company said the product, also referred to as HU80KA, will become the first of its kind to come with LG CineBeam branding. The company said it plans to apply the title to other existing models.

The product weighs 6.7 kilograms, standing 47 centimeters tall. The price tag has been set at 3.49 million won (US$3,265).

Citing data compiled by industry tracker Pacific Media Associates, LG said the global market for 4K-level beam projectors will reach 210,000 units this year, up from 90,000 units posted in 2017, with the number set to reach 1.83 million in 2020.
