[THE INVESTOR] Frence-based Air Liquide, the world’s biggest supplier of industrial gases, has decided to invest 157 billion won (US$145 million) to build a new plant in Korea, a provincial authority said on April 24.

The plant -- set to be completed by December 2019 at the Yeosu industrial complex -- will boost Air Liquide’s annual production capacity of hydrogen and carbon monoxide to 409 million cubic meters and 145 million cubic meters, respectively, according to the South Jeolla provincial government.

Yeosu, located about 455 kilometers south of Seoul, is a key industrial city in South Jeolla Province.

Air Liquide Korea has been present in Korea since 1996, providing industrial gases and related services to major industries, such as petrochemical, oil refining, steel, automotive and renewable energy.
