[THE INVESTOR] Renault Samsung Motors said on May 2 its April sales rose 2.9 percent from a year earlier helped by exports.
Renault Samsung sold 23,096 vehicles last month, up from 22,444 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales dropped 21 percent on-year to 6,903 units last month from 8,702 units. But exports rose 18 percent to 16,193 from 13,742 during the same period, the statement said.
In the January-April period, overall sales fell 0.6 percent on-year to 87,996 autos from 88,563, it said.
The company’s current lineup includes the SM3 compact, the all-electric SM3 Z.E. sedan, the QM3 subcompact SUV, and the SM5, SM6 and SM7 sedans.
