SK Telecom, Hanwha join forces to develop security solutions

[THE INVESTOR] Korea’s top mobile carrier SK Telecom said on May 29 it has joined forces with Hanwha Techwin to develop next-generation security solutions.

Under the agreement, SK Telecom will apply its “T-View security platform to Hanwha Techwin’s closed-circuit television products.

The two companies will utilize deep learning technology to have CCTVs automatically detect suspicious movements, they said.

SK Telecom and Hanwha will also join forces in developing high-resolution cameras equipped with 5G network modules.

“We expect synergy between the No. 1 players from the fields of mobile communication and video security,” SK Telecom said.

“Through deep learning technology, we plan to improve the accuracy of intelligent video analysis. We plan to provide next-generation security services adopting the Internet of Things and 5G technologies,’ it added.
