[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics said on June 21 it will push for High Dynamic Range 10+ certification with major business partners to promote the content format in the global market.
The Korean tech giant said it has launched a new campaign to invite more partners to receive the HDR10+ certification and logo along with the 20th Century Fox and Panasonic.
The new program centers on providing detailed definition of the HDR10+ technology, as well as guidelines in using the certification logo, Samsung said.
The HDR technology allows television screens to deliver vivid displays by optimizing the brightness depending on color. The HRD10+ technology is a latest standard proposed by Samsung.
Samsung’s 2017 and 2018 editions of QLED and Ultra HD TVs currently support the format.
The company is working with Warner Bros. and Amazon to create high-resolution contents that meet the standard.
“As TVs are becoming bigger, expressing the screen with details has become important,” Samsung said, claiming it will expand cooperation with various partners to provide quality HDR contents to viewers.
