[THE INVESTOR] Korean e-commerce firm Coupang on July 17 launched a new online affiliate marketing system which allows influencers and content creators to easily introduce products sold on its platform with some commission fees in return.

“Coupang Partners will be a new revenue source for bloggers, system developers, influencers, Facebook users as well as stay-at-home mothers,” Senior Vice President of Global e-commerce Navid Veiseh said in a statement. “Our great prices, coupled with differentiated services such as Rocket Delivery will help ensure higher conversion and commissions.”

Anyone who has an online presence can simply sign up on the Coupang Partners website, which only takes a few minutes, to use the system. After that, they can start posting banners or links of products and services that are sold on Coupang on their personal social media platforms to earn commissions. All products and services sold on Coupang can be marketed through the new system, including all those eligible for its signature 24-hour Rocket Delivery service and ones that are sold by open market sellers.

Coupang’s self-developed tracking system monitors and calculates the profit earned by users through their posts. Coupang Partners users will receive their commissions -- 3 percent of its sales -- every other month.

Coupang was established by Harvard Business School dropout Kim Bom in 2010 and became popular with its signature fast Rocket Delivery service, which was launched in 2014.
