[THE INVESTOR] Korean stocks ended lower on July 18, as relief spurred by positive sentiments on the US economy gave way to greater caution over the local economic picture and lingering woes over global trade disputes, analysts said. The Korean won fell against the US dollar.

The benchmark KOSPI shed 7.81 points, or 0.34 percent, to close at 2,290.11. Trade volume was slim at 395 million shares worth 4.83 trillion won (US$4.27 billion), with losers outnumbering gainers 649 to 187.

The Korean currency closed at 1,132.30 won against the US dollar, down 8.20 won from previous session.
