[THE INVESTOR] Korea’s corporate watchdog said on July 23 that it has levied 379 million won (US$336,000) in fines on Doosan Infracore over unfair business practices.

The Fair Trade Commission said the country’s top construction equipment maker has appropriated key technologies of its subcontractors, which did not accept a cut in prices of parts used for excavators.

According to the FTC, Doosan Infracore has terminated contracts with such firms and placed orders with others.

The FTC said it referred Doosan Infracore and five of its employees to state prosecutors for further investigation.
