[THE INVESTOR] Korea’s exports rebounded in July from the previous month’s slight fall, government data showed on Aug. 1.

Outbound shipments reached US$51.88 billion last month, up 6.2 percent from a year ago, according to the data compiled by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

In June, the country’s exports inched down due to fewer working days and a high base effect.

Imports surged 16.2 percent on-year to US$44.88 billion last month.

Korea’s trade surplus came to US$7.01 billion, marking 78 straight months in which the country’s exports have exceeded imports, the ministry said.
