[THE INVESTOR] YG Plus, a subsidiary of Korea’s leading entertainment powerhouse YG Entertainment, on Aug. 2 announced that it will further expand its presence overseas with its cosmetics brand Moonshot.

“In August, Moonshot will be available in Japan, Thailand and Indonesia through diverse retailing channels,” an YG Plus spokesperson told The Investor. The company added that it will also start selling Moonshot products in Philippines from October.

In Japan, Moonshot will be sold mainly through major beauty stores like Loft and Tokyu Hands and discount stores like Don Quijote. In Indonesia the company will distribute its products through shopping mall Grand Indonesia and beauty store C&F. Furthermore, in Thailand, the product will be available at drugstore Everyboy.

The company also plans to start an aggressive promotion with Lisa from Thailand, who is also a member of YG’s K-pop group Black Pink, to increase its brand awareness from this month.

YG Plus has been trying to expand its presence overseas this year. In May, the company entered China and opened a Moonshot outlet in Hong Kong early this year.
