[THE INVESTOR] SsangYong Motor said on Sept. 3 its sales fell 3.2 percent last month from a year earlier due to weak exports.
SsangYong Motor sold 11,349 vehicles in August, down from 11,725 units a year earlier, the company said in a statement.
Domestic sales rose 9.7 percent to 9,055 units in August from 8,255 a year earlier. But exports plunged 32 percent to 2,366 units from 3,470 during the same period, it said.
In the January-August period, the maker of the flagship G4 Rexton and Rexton Sports sold a combined 90,925 vehicles, down 2.7 percent from 93,483 a year earlier, the company said.
