[THE INVESTOR] KT said on Sept. 18 that it has inked an initial agreement with Hoa Binh Construction Group to provide its artificial intelligence platform for hotels to be built by the Vietnamese builder.

The telco said its artificial intelligence speaker GiGA Genie can provide functions such as ordering room service and adjusting room temperature with voice commands.

Currently, KT has installed the Giga Genie platform -- similar to Amazon’s Alexa -- in two hotels in Korea.

The memorandum of understanding is the first step for KT in exporting its Giga Genie platform in global markets, said Lee Pil-jae, a senior official handling marketing strategy at KT.
