[THE INVESTOR] Hankook Tire said on Sept. 27 it has obtained global technology approval to supply its tires to racing cars that will compete in the 2020-23 Formula 1 season.
In August, Hankook Tire joined the bid to supply tires to the F1 race and achieved approval from the Federation Internationale de l’Automobile on its tire-manufacturing knowhow, the company said in a statement.
The recognition will help improve the brand image of Hankook Tire, as F1 machines equipped with its high-performance tires will run in the high-profile races, it said.
Hankook Tire has supplied its racing tires to Germany’s Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters, 24 Hours of Le Mans and the FIA Formula 3 European Championship.
