[THE INVESTOR] LS Cable & System said on Oct. 1 it has signed a deal to supply high voltage cables to Denmark‘s state-run power firm Orsted by 2021.

Some 350 kilometers of onshore high voltage cables will be used in a power-generating complex on the coast of Yorkshire, Britain, with operations kicking off in 2022, the company said in a statement.

“This contract is meaningful because it continues the trend of supplying cables for renewable energy projects in Europe, the home of cable business. We hope to expand opportunities for projects in Europe, North America and Asia,” LS Cable & System CEO Myung Roe-hyun said in the statement.

The cables are capable of supplying electricity to over 1.3 million homes, it said.
