[THE INVESTOR] Mercedes-Benz Korea said on Nov. 7 it has expanded its research and development center in Seoul, making it into its Asian hub for developing autonomous and connected vehicles.
The Mercedes-Benz R&D Korea Center will focus on developing autonomous-driving technology related to a cutting-edge drive assistance system, as well as technologies for connected cars, including telematics and an information system, the carmaker said in a statement.
“Through the expansion of the center, it is expected that our role as a research and development hub in Asia will be strengthened for implementing CASE (Connected, Autonomous, Shared & Services and Electric), Mercedes-Benz’s future strategy, and we will continue our contribution to the Korean society,” Mercedes-Benz Korea President and CEO Dimitris Psillakis said in the statement.
