Hyundai, Vodafone sign deal for connected car services in Europe

The eight countries are Britain, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands. Hyundai Motor Group has already launched connected car services in Korea, the United States, Canada and China under partnerships with local IT firms.

The connected car services will allow customers to access real-time transportation information on the navigation system, locations of parking lots, security alarms, voice recognition, and the vehicle’s location and condition, it said.

Hyundai Motor Group has partnered with Vodafone Group to start providing connected car services in Europe next year, the company said on Nov. 13.

Hyundai signed a memorandum of understanding with Vodafone at the British telecom company‘s headquarters in Newbury to offer connected car services through Vodafone’s Internet of Things platform to customers who purchase the group‘s vehicles in eight European countries beginning in 2019, the company said in a statement.
