[THE INVESTOR] The Korean stock market closed higher on Nov. 27 as investors expressed hope over the upcoming summit between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, analysts said. The Korean currency lowered against the US dollar.
The benchmark KOSPI moved up 16.4 points, or 0.79 percent, to 2,099.42. Trading volume was light at 235 million shares worth 4.41 trillion won (US$3.9 billion), with gainers outnumbering losers 501 to 308.
Foreigners bought more shares than they sold at 195 billion won, while individuals offloaded a net 211 billion won. Institutions bought a net 19 billion won.
The Korean won closed at 1,129.40 won against the US dollar, down 0.50 won from the previous session’s close.
