[THE INVESTOR] Korean stocks skidded on Dec. 5 as intensifying uncertainties over US-China trade talks and gloomy growth woes dulled investor appetite for risky assets. The Korean won declined against the US dollar.

The benchmark KOSPI shed13.04 points, or 0.62 percent, to 2.101.31. Trading volume was heavy at 484.1 million shares worth 4.66 trillion won (US$4.18 billion), with losers outnumbering gainers 510 to 323.

Foreigners dumped a net 197 billion won worth of local shares, while institutional investors purchased a net 93.1 billion won and individuals bought a net 81.3 billion won.

The local currency closed at 1,114.10 won against the US dollar, down 8.80 won from the previous session’s close.
