[THE INVESTOR] KB Kookmin Bank announced on Dec.28 that it has renewed its annual commercial contract with popular K-pop boy band BTS.

The band has since June endorsed BTS Installment Savings -- launched with BTS bankbook and BTS check card -- which has surpassed 180,000 accounts to-date. The K-pop sensation also featured in video commercials of its digital banking app KB Starbanking and Liiv, which have exceeded 10 million views on YouTube.

KB Kookmin Bank roped in BTS for commercials in January this year, which proved to be highly successful because of the group’s global popularity.

The band topped the Billboard 200 album charts with its third album “Love Yourself: Tear” in the US as the first Korean musical group in May.

“We will continue to entertain our customers through various partnerships with BTS in 2019,” a bank official said.
