Hyundai aims to sell 7.6m vehicles in 2019

[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Motor Group said on Jan. 2 it aims to sell 7.6 million vehicles this year by focusing on major markets, such as the United States and China.

In 2019, Hyundai Motor and its affiliate Kia Motors will strive to sell 4.68 million vehicles and 2.92 million units, respectively, in global markets, the companies said in separate regulatory filings.


In the January-November period of 2018, Hyundai and Kia sold a combined 6.75 million autos, up 1.96 percent from 6.62 million units on-year.

For the whole of 2018, the carmakers set a sales target of 7.55 million units, up 4.1 percent from the 7.25 million they sold a year earlier.
