South Korean stocks fell on March 28 as investors expressed concern over the earnings of major technology companies, analysts said. The local currency lost ground against the US dollar.

The benchmark Kospi dropped 17.52 points, or 0.82 percent, to finish at 2,128.10. Trading volume was relatively light at 284 million shares worth 4.31 trillion won ($3.79 billion), with losers far outpacing gainers 649 to 186.

Foreigners offloaded a net 12.3 billion won, with institutions also becoming net sellers of 84 billion won. Individuals bought 81 billion won more in shares than they sold.

The local currency traded at 1,136.80 won against the US dollar, down 2.30 won from the previous day’s close.
