LG partners with CJ Foodville to deploy robots

LG Electronics said on April 18 it has partnered with CJ Foodville to deploy robots at selected restaurants.

The robots will be deployed at few CJ Foodville’s restaurants later this year to serve customers and create futuristic experiences, LG said.


CJ Foodville is a subsidiary of food and entertainment conglomerate CJ Group.

“If robots do repetitive and hard tasks for humans, employees will be able to offer more valuable experiences and services,” Roh Jin-seo, head of LG’s robotics business, said in a release.

LG has been developing different types of robots and services to find new growth momentum in the future-oriented industry.  

The company also been partnering with Naver, the nation’s top internet portal operator, to upgrade its guide robot’s function based on the mobility and location platform.
