JB Financial Group obtained certification from the British Standards Institution proving it has appropriate systems in place to prevent bribery and corruption, it said Sept. 2.

The certification, called ISO 37001, is designed to ensure that organizations have systems in place to prevent bribery. BSI is a UK-based business standards company.

JB is the first domestic financial holdings group to obtain ISO 37001 certification.

JB Financial Chairman Kim Ki-hong receives the group’s ISO 37001 certification from BSI Korea COO Song Kyung-soo on Aug. 30.

The financial group said JB adopted an anti-corruption system last year to reinforce the company’s internal auditing process and has made significant efforts to strengthen its anti-bribery controls throughout the company.

“Ethical management is essential for the sustainability of a financial group and we will continue to create an organization of integrity and transparency,” Kim Ki-hong, JB Financial Chairman, said.
