Logistics service provider Mesh Korea said June 30 it is partnering with Beam Mobility, a Singapore-based micro-mobility company, for battery charging services.

Drivers’ of Vroong, Mesh Korea’s last-mile delivery service, will provide charging services for Beam’s e-scooters during their idle time, the company said.

They are initially providing charging services in Seoul with a plan to expand to the rest of the country.

Established in 2013, Mesh Korea has partnered with some 38,000 delivery persons around the nation for Vroong and has 350 logistics centers.

Beam officially launched in Korea in August last year.

“I’m happy to have an opportunity to utilize the wide network of riders owned by Mesh Korea,” Alan Jiang, CEO of Beam Mobility, said in a statement.

“I hope this is also an opportunity for riders to make extra earnings and I look forward to more cooperation with Mesh Korea.”

“We can expect synergies as we both are mobility platforms. With the battery charging and replacement service, we will continue to seek various ways to cooperate to make both companies more competitive,” said Mesh Korea CEO Rhyu Joung-bum.
