Hyundai Mobis, a leading Korean mobility parts manufacturer, has developed an innovative car sound system that rotates to deliver optimal sound quality to passengers.
The company announced Wednesday that it has created a "movable sound system" for vehicles, featuring dashboard-mounted speakers that automatically adjust their direction to provide immersive audio throughout the cabin.
This new sound system is designed to work in tandem with Hyundai Mobis’ rollable display, which was developed two years ago. The technology reflects the growing trend of transforming vehicles into multifunctional spaces for relaxation and entertainment.
When the car is stationary or in self-driving mode, the display expands to 30 inches, offering passengers a wider infotainment experience.
At the same time, the speakers rotate to face the windshield, ensuring clear and immersive sound as it reflects off the glass.
While the car is in motion and the display retracts to one-third of its size, the speakers shift back to face the driver, enhancing clarity for driving instructions and warnings.
Additionally, the system adjusts its rotation based on the vehicle's speed, finding the optimal angle for sound delivery.
Beyond this cutting-edge sound system, Hyundai Mobis is further strengthening its in-vehicle audio technology through a collaboration with Meridian, a renowned British manufacturer of high-end audio systems.
“Hyundai Mobis is delivering its differentiated brand value in the mobility sector through future-oriented, innovative products targeting the global market,” said a Hyundai Mobis official.
With this latest development, Hyundai Mobis continues to push the boundaries of in-car technology, redefining the driving experience with advanced audiovisual solutions.
