LG CNS on Wednesday said it is expanding into the North American market with its latest warehouse automation robots.

The IT solutions arm of LG Group is participating in ProMat 2025, a major manufacturing and supply chain trade show at McCormick Place in Chicago that started Monday and runs through Thursday.

At the event, LG CNS showcased its “3D Mobile Shuttle,” a warehouse automation robot designed to transport and store goods on warehouse shelves. The shuttle robot can move freely in four directions — up, down, left and right — allowing for more efficient transportation and storage of goods, unlike existing equipment that can only move in two directions — right and left, according to the company.

The company also applied mathematical optimization technology, reducing warehouse space usage by more than 20 percent.

The 3D Mobile Shuttle can also handle cylindrical cargo, such as automotive batteries, and provides customization options for the types and materials of shuttle robots used.

At the exhibition, LG CNS also unveiled its smart logistics solution, which enables real-time monitoring and remote control of automated facilities, optimizes routes for autonomous robots, manages traffic and provides integrated control functions.

LG CNS is operating a joint booth with US-based robotics company Bear Robotics and smart factory solutions provider Thira Robotics at the event.

“LG CNS is developing a variety of logistics robots to strengthen our smart logistics capabilities,” said Lee Jun-ho, head of the smart logistics and city business unit at LG CNS. “We will provide customized logistics robots and smart logistics solutions for North American clients to help them successfully implement logistics automation.”
