[THE INVESTOR] LG Electronics said on Oct. 11 that users of its artificial intelligence TVs are now able to use the Korean-language version of the Google Assistant voice recognition program.
The Korean tech giant said the LG OLED TV AI ThinQ and the Super Ultra HD TV ThinQ models are now capable of understanding local users.
It marked the first time for TVs to adopt the Korean-language version of the Google Assistant program.
LG first released AI TVs equipped with the English version of the system in May. The company said other newly introduced languages on its TVs include German, French and Spanish.
The company said users can make commands by voice through the remote control, and its TVs will connect to various Google services.
For example, users can ask distances between cities, or request that their TVs post photos from Google Photos.
LG’s AI TVs also connect to other LG home appliances or other smart devices linked to Google Assistant.
The company added that its AI TVs stand out from other products in the market as they are also equipped with LG’s own AI platform DeepThinQ, providing more optimized features to users.
