LG Electronics said on March 4 that its membership of AUTOSAR (Automotive Open System Architecture), a development partnership of global vehicle manufacturers, was upgraded one level to that of “strategic” partner, the second-highest, from its previous “premium” partner status, for its dedication to the development of a standard platform.

AUTOSAR is a worldwide development partnership of vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, service providers and companies from the automotive, electronics, semiconductor and software industries.

LG became a premium partner in 2017.

The company has been diversifying its portfolio by strengthening its automotive parts business, which provides solutions for electric vehicles along with display and audio products designed for automobiles.
