Chey purchased the 887 square meter house in the posh residential area near Han River in February 2016 and moved in after renovation. The two-story house, with three floors belowground, belonged to late Kumho Group Chairman Park Seong-yong.
The house is next door to that of LG Chairman Koo Bon-moo and about 200 meters from Samsung Chairman Lee Kun-hee’s residence, the second most expensive residential property in Korea. The Land Ministry has estimated it to be worth 13.6 billion won (US$11.94 million).
Hyundai Motor Group's Chung Mong-koo, Amorepacific's Suh Kyung-bae and Kumho Asiana’s Park Sam-koo are among the other business tycoons residing in the area.
