[THE INVESTOR] Korean brokerage house Meritz Securities has recently hired an executive in his 30s -- the second of its kind within the nation’s brokerage market -- to lead its new derivative business division, industry sources said on July 28.
Lee Jung-hoon, 36, former executive director of Goldman Sachs Hong Kong, joined Mertiz on July 17. The former software engineer at Microsoft has worked at Goldman Sachs’ equity structuring unit since 2012.
With his appointment, there are two executives in their 30s at the nation’s top 10 securities companies. The first was Yang Hong-seok, 36, president of Daishin Securities, a firm that was founded by his grandfather.
