Mirae Asset Venture Investment seeks IPO next year

[THE INVESTOR] Mirae Asset Venture Investment, a venture capital unit of Mirae Asset Financial Group, is seeking to launch an initial public offering as early as next year on the nation’s secondary bourse KOSDAQ, according to industry sources on March 9.

The firm has recently starting preparations for the IPO, including searching for a deal advisor. The Bell reported six local securities firms, including Daishin, Samsung, Shinhan, Hankook, NH and KB have received the bidding proposals.

The firm was established in 1999 with aims to invest in smaller venture firms. The assets under management are about 303.8 billion won -- 19th largest in Korea. Now the biggest shareholder is Mirae Asset Daewoo with 76.79 percent, followed by an ad firm Jeonhong with 12.77 percent.
