GFriend is ready to join the highly-competitive summer record market.

According to the group’s agency Source Music Thursday, the six-piece girl group will release a new summer EP on July 19. The upcoming album marks the act’s first release since its sixth EP “Time for the Moon Night,” which swept local music charts upon release. Teaser images released by the agency featured six pastel-toned ice creams and a red retro style cassette player and a skateboard.

The K-pop act debuted with EP “Season of Glass” in 2015. It has released many hit songs such as “Me Gustas Tu,” “Rough,” “Fingertip,” “Love Whisper” and “Summer Rain.” The group held its first solo concert earlier in January and made its Japanese debut with debut compilation album “Kyokara Watashitachi wa -- GFriend 1st Best” in May. GFriend also won six awards in Korean music programs, making its smash hit “Time for the Moon Night” the first song of this year to win all the prizes in musical shows.
