[THE INVESTOR] Daeshin Securities, Korea’s midsize brokerage, has decided to invest a total of 122.7 billion won (US$109.80 million) in two buildings in New York, the company said on Sept. 5.

The firm has invested 56.9 billion won for a property located on 378 West End Avenue in Manhattan and 65.8 billion won for real estate located on 400 Madison Avenue.

This is the first batch of investments since the brokerage set up an office in the US in June. Earlier this year, Daeshin created an overseas property team for its research center.

“We’ve decided to invest in buildings in New York to provide clients with fine opportunities for alternative investments and also to secure dollar assets,” a Daeshin official said. “We will continue to develop quality investment opportunities in advanced countries such as in the European Union and Japan.”
