Kia Motors on March 12 launched the upgraded K5 sedan in the domestic market to boost sales.

Higher-trim models of the upgraded K5 come with safety features, such as the front collision avoidance, lane keeping assist and driver awareness warning systems, Kia said in a statement.

The K5 is available in four versions, with a 2.0-liter gasoline, a 2.0 gasoline hybrid, a 1.6 gasoline turbo, or a 1.7 diesel engine, it said.

It is priced between 22 million won ($19,500) and 33 million won, with the prices going up depending on options.

Kia’s K5 launch comes ahead of Hyundai Motor’s planned launch of the Sonata sedan later this month. Hyundai and Kia together form the world‘s fifth-biggest carmaker by sales.
