LG Electronics on March 26 unveiled new air conditioners equipped with air purification and other advance features aimed squarely at the premium market.
The air conditioners, in particular, provide “all-in-one” air solution features -- cooling, heating, air purification, humidification and dehumidification, according to LG.
The models improved air purifying filters to address growing concerns over fine dust that have become a source of concern for many living in the country.
Concentrations of fine dust rise in springtime and even cause problems in the winter months, LG said.
The latest lineup of LG’s Signature brand products are all equipped with artificial intelligence capabilities.
“The price, I think, will be around 10 million won ($8,800) because the appliance is equipped with the five functions,” said Song Dae-hyun, the head of LG’s home appliance and air solutions division.
The company did not elaborate on the sales target for the new air conditioners.
