KGCCI gives 4 companies ‘Innovation Awards’

The Korean German Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Sept. 27 successfully held its “5th KGCCI Innovation Awards” ceremony at the floating island Sebitseom in Seoul.

“We are proud to recognize companies that are leading innovation in Korea,” said Barbara Zollmann, President and CEO of KGCCI. She added that the organization will try to support the winners to use this award as a springboard to globalize their business and partner with German companies.

 

Winners of the “5th KGCCI Innovation Awards”



The companies that received four different kinds of innovation awards include Bitsensing, 42Maru, BASF Korea and Henkel Korea.

Bitsensing was awarded in the category “Innovation in Business” as its radar technology is evaluated as having a capability of making a safer future. The technology can be used for controlling speeding and checking vitals of infants inside the vehicles.

The “Innovation in Digitalization” award went to 42 Maru which has a unique question answering system that can be applied to diverse frameworks. BASF Korea was honored as the winner in the “Innovation in Sustainability”’ category for its contributions in addressing the need for a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative solution to conventional plastic.

Henkel Korea was honored with the “Chairman Award” for introducing production process automation solutions and its ability to reduce the amount of carbon footprint and waste generated worldwide with its technology.

Initiated in 2015, the award ceremony aims to promote innovative products, technologies and business strategies of companies, helping them excel.
