SK Innovation expresses regret over LG Chem lawsuit in US
SK Innovation on Sept. 29 expressed regret over the patent infringement lawsuit recently filed against it by LG Chem with a US court, vowing a strong response as the legal battle rages on between the two battery rivals.
On Sept. 29, SK Innovation said, “We will respond strongly by taking all possible legal action,” accusing LG Chem of failing to create a virtuous cycle through fair and cooperative competition.

The remarks come as LG Chem filed additional lawsuits against SK Innovation with the US International Trade Commission and the US District Court of Delaware on Sept. 26 last week in a tit-for-tat legal battle.
SK Innovation said one of the patents it was being accused of infringing had been the subject of a settlement in a domestic court in 2014, when LG Chem had promised not to sue for 10 years.
Two hours later, LG Chem denied that was the case, saying the patents it was seeking to enforce now were different from those previously settled in domestic courts.
