[THE INVESTOR] Popular Korean animated comedy TV series “Larva” is being made into a Hollywood movie, TUBAn announced on Aug. 9.

The toy and animation company behind the cartoon said that Hollywood producer-writer Erica Rivinoja is finalizing the script and the movie is slated for release in the first half of 2018.

Rivijoja’s works include “South Park” (1997) and “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2” (2013). 

The slapstick cartoon featuring two larvae -- Yellow and Red -- has been broadcast in over 150 countries including the US, China, UK and Brazil. It first appeared in 2011 on national network KBS.
