[THE INVESTOR] While the number of workers in their 50s and over surged rapidly, the number of jobs taken up by those in their 20s and 30s only increased slightly or decreased, Statistics Korea said.
Half of the jobs available were given by small and mid-sized businesses with less than 50 employees. There were a total of 23.2 million jobs available as of the end of last year. Only 6 percent of the employees worked for at least 20 years in the same employment.
Statistics Korea said that the decline in the number of jobs among those in the 30s is linked to the drop in the population of the age group.
