Doosan wins major power plant contract in India

[THE INVESTOR] Doosan Heavy Industries and Construction’s Indian subsidiary has been awarded two contracts worth 2.8 trillion won (US$ 2.34 billion) from the state government of Uttar Pradesh in northern India.

According to Doosan Heavy, its Indian arm Doosan Power Systems India has been contracted to build two coal power plants in the region.

The plants -- Obra-C and Jawaharpur -- will be equipped with two 660-megawatt generators, with estimated value of 1.37 trillion won and 1.39 trillion won, respectively.

The Obra-C plant is scheduled for completion in October 2020, and the Jawaharpur plant is set to be completed by February 2021.
