[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Heavy Industries is offering voluntary redundancy programs for Gunsan dockyard workers, further fueling concerns that the facility will be shut down.
The company reportedly planning to shut down the facility in Gunsan, North Jeolla Province, in March as part of its restructuring efforts.
According to reports, the company introduced the voluntary redundancy plans for Gunsan facility employees at the end of last year, and dozens of employees have opted for the program so far.
Those who choose to stay on will be transferred to HHI’s facilities in Ulsan, reports said.
