[THE INVESTOR] Huawei Korea has appointed Shawn Meng as its new local representative, the company announced on Feb. 15.

Meng started his career at Huawei in 2007 as a wireless network engineer and served as a chief operating officer for Huawei Indonesia where he managed a US$1.8 billion carrier network business, the company said.

He graduated from Wuhan University with a degree in electronic engineering. Before joining Huawei, he worked at China Telecom in Shenzhen, southeastern China.

“I am glad to lead Huawei Korea,” Meng said. “I would like to contribute my efforts to communications technology system in Korea and will seek ways to cooperate with many partners to achieve my goal.”
