Shinsegae names star blogger as hotel manager
[THE INVESTOR] Shinsegae Group has appointed a star blogger as chief manager of its new business hotel scheduled to open in June next year, according to the Maeil Business News on July 31.
The blogger, Kim Bum-soo, is one of the top food bloggers on Naver, the nation’s No. 1 portal. His blog, called “Pat2Bach,” boasts more than 3,500 reviews on restaurants around the world, attracting millions of visitors every day.
The report said Kim will be responsible for overall quality control of food and beverage services at the new hotel, a Chosun Hotel chain owned by Shinsegae. Until recently, he worked as creative director at E-mart.
His appointment comes as local retail and food companies are expanding their dining business. Under the leadership of Vice Chairman Chung Yong-jin, Shinsegae, among others, has opened up fancier food courts across its retail outlets nationwide.
