Hyundai Mobis wins US$5b orders in US, China
[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Mobis said on Sept. 25 it has won US$4.8 billion worth of orders from the US and China this year.
The amount of orders secured in the January-August period is far higher than the US$1 billion of orders clinched by Hyundai Mobis in the two other major markets -- Europe and Japan -- for the whole of 2016.
During the eight-month period, Hyundai Mobis won orders to supply chassis modules for pickup trucks and two electro-electric parts -- disassociated center stack displays and integrated center stacks -- in the US market, the company said in a statement.
“We have supplied chassis modules for Chrysler SUV models, and it is our first time to provide chassis modules for pickup trucks in the US,” he said without elaborating on the deal.
