[THE INVESTOR] SK hynix said on Oct. 26 its third-quarter net profit advanced fivefold from a year.

Net profit came to a record high of 3.05 trillion won (US$2.70 billion), rising sharply from 597 billion won posted a year earlier, the company said in a regulatory filing.

Operating profit also reached 3.7 trillion won in the July-September period, rising sharply from 725 billion won posted in the previous year. Sales increased 90.9 percent over the cited period to reach 8.1 trillion won.

The net profit came in line with the market estimates of 3 trillion won. The third-quarter report was released before the market opened.
